A Quick Run Down on EFT Tapping and It’s Wonderful Benefits

by Tru and Well

If you’re interested in learning about EFT tapping techniques but don’t want to spend hours doing research, look no further! We address EFT tapping – the basics behind tapping, the benefits of tapping, as well as the specific tapping points.

What is EFT Tapping?

Let’s start out with EFT. EFT stands for emotional freedom technique. Tapping focuses on activating specific locations on your body or face called meridians. These meridians are also focal energy points in your body. By spending a few seconds tapping on these different meridians, tapping is believed to restore energy balance.

Tapping gained popularity in the 1970’s by Dr. Gary Craig but it’s origins run much deeper. Eft Tapping can be traced back to Chinese medicine. This medicine focuses on balancing the body’s energy in order to maintain good health.

Tapping Points

While we want everyone to be able to use the EFT tapping technique, it’s important that one taps on the correct meridians. Tapping can be extremely effective for anxiety, emotional imbalances, and pain in the body. When done properly, can be used as an alternative to acupuncture and therapy. There are a few key tapping points that are listed below.

Step By Step Process for Using EFT

In order to have an effective tapping solution, it’s important to go through the following steps.

Step 1: Acknowledge the issue – call out the physical or mental pain. Once you’ve identified this, give it a rating on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being extremely painful. It’s important to rate the problem so you can measure any progress at the end of your session

Step 2: Create your “set-up statement” – this is basically identifying the issue that you’ve acknowledged and following it with the statement: “but I deeply accept myself”.

Example: Even though I feel anxiety about this project at work, I deeply and completely accept Myself.

Step 3: Start reciting your set-up statement while you tap on the key meridians. Try reciting your set-up statement three times while tapping 6-7 times in each area.

You can go through the sequence once or 2-3 times. Once you’ve completed your tapping session, rate your feelings or pain toward the identified issue. If your level of intensity has dropped, you’ve made progress through tapping!

Tapping may be extremely beneficial for some but may not produce results for others. While this seems like a very personalized experience, we do suggest that if you have some sort of physical or mental pain and you’re looking for an alternative, you should give EFT tapping a shot!
